Incredible hotel and staff. I have very much enjoyed my stay there. Very reasonable price for what I got. Nice room, staff, and breakfast. Amazing location which is near to public transportation. Would greatly recommend it.

The location was terrific. Easy access to trams that got us everywhere in the city we wanted to go. Wonderful restaurants in the vicinity too. Especially the Harmonie, just a few blocks away. . However, the hotel website was totally misleading. This is a former mission training center. It is transitioning into becoming a hotel, alongside its first purpose. (We ourselves are active church members and have no problem with mission training centers, but we did not expect to stay in one. ) The website showcased the hotel‘s lovely garden and that was a real draw for us. The garden, however, was completely torn up because of the restaurant renovation. We had drinks amidst the weeds that remained. The hotel furnishings were mediocre and banal. We had to stuff the traditional Swiss duvet into its cover. Normally, this is done before the guests arrive. It is not an easy task. Finally, the whole place smelled of institutional disinfectant.
We are sorry to have to leave such a negative review. The website should have been clearer about the hotel’s transitional stage. On the other hand, we loved Basel!!!!

Personal amable y nos atendieron en español. Solucionaron rápidamente el problema de la reserva y nos obsequiaron con unos caramelos.

Rooms are clean and the location is relatively close to the center (10min walk) and in a nice neighborhood.
There was construction on site (new building right outside my window) with very loud noises starting at 7AM.

Hotel is very close to old city and downtown , just 5 min distance by foot. Breakfast was quite satisfy and the ladies that worked at the breakfast area were so polite and in good mood. Singe room was small but nice and cozy
Receptionists had strict behavior with the quests. I can understand that might be a typical German or Swiss behavior but when someone is working at the reception should know some basic rules of social behavior such as to say a "hello"!! Room was clean but the linen after 3 nights wasn't changed.
