Lovely Staff, excellent cleanliness, good service, and amazing location with amazing views. We booked a family room and we were upgraded to River facing top floor apartment. Best place to stay in Basel.

Not feeling brave enough to swim in The Rhine, as the locals do, a pool would have been most welcome.

“The bed was super comfortable, the location was spectacular! Close to tram station which we rode all over Basel, sightseeing, and right next to the historical bridge to all shopping and restaurants. The hotel provided free cards for all trams and buses! The included breakfast was superb! Great restaurant and bar for the evenings, too. Very warm and welcoming staff. Free bottled water and juice/soda. We really enjoyed our time at the Merian. Thank you!”
