Avantatges: The staff was lovely, the rooms were well decorated and spotless clean. Our terrace was big and we could enjoy the sun at the end of February. The inside swimming pool was nice, the temperature of the water wonderful!

Desavantatges: We could not stay longer...

Avantatges: tiene un espacio amplio con un lindo spa con piscina interna. Lamentablemente en invierno solo estaba disponible el jaccuzi porque ni el sauna ni el truco funcionaban y para entrar a la piscina uno requiere gorro. La cama es muy comoda al igual que las almohadas y el bano estaba muy agradable. El desayuno muy completo la habitacion tenia muy linda vista al hotel y hasta la playa

Desavantatges: muy solo el hotel en invierno y aunque nos dijeron en la recepcion que el restaurante estaba abierto para almorzar, no tenian sino dos platos pescado o carne con papas y arroz al medio dia. En la noche mejoro la oferta.

Avantatges: We've been coming here for many years, and usually recommend it to friends. The hotel was remodeled about 2 years ago, and it's more comfortable and modern. The staff is always nice and helpful.

Desavantatges: We like the spa, but preferred the old swimming poll, which was much bigger.

Avantatges: P.S. - Conozco el Hotel hace muchos años , incluido el anterior que estaba en esa misma ubicación- Tanto yo por viajes de negocios como mi familia por Vacaciones intentamos como primera opción efectuar reserva en ese hotel.

Desavantatges: Como cliente habitual , si hay disponibilidad , lo que no me gusta es la solicitud de pago anticipado , Viajo mucho y en ningún hotel me lo solicitan , entre otras cosas porque puedo saber día de llegada pero no el día de salida , en función de los asuntos a tratar que tengo. ( Como comentario , el Hotel Star Inn Peniche no me cobra por anticipado ; Pago el día de salida )

Avantatges: Habitación muy amplia, con vistas al mar. Cama muy cómoda y buen spa (había bastantes niños alzando la voz pero las instalaciones perfectas). Desayuno-buffet muy bueno.

Desavantatges: La ubicación con respecto al centro de Peniche no es la ideal. Eso sí, la playa está al lado.

Avantatges: Cuarto amplio con cama comodísimos. Desayuno espectacular. Smart tv en las habitaciones

Desavantatges: Unfortunately there was no hot water to take a bath which was not ideal. The water was lukewarm at the most. Reception informed me to wait another 10/15 min.

Avantatges: Everything, except interior pool water temperature, other than that, exellent room and breakfast.

Desavantatges: Swimming pool could do with cleaning around the under edges which are black with mould but the water was very clean and clear.

Desavantatges: The hotel was renovated but not as deeply as it should (bathrooms are still rather old). But rates are very competitive.

Avantatges: The hotel needs a reparation. Outside the hotel were a building of something which made the view a little bit worse. Breakfast could be better. We were staying there during the low season (end of oktober). Stuff really did their work and were nice and helpfull.

Avantatges: Baleal Zensations was great for the 2 of us. It was close to the main beach but far away that it wasn't loud at night. We had free street parking very close and the room was comfortable and big. The place was clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. The staff were also very nice and provided us with some great suggestions for what to do, eat, see, etc. while in Baleal.

Avantatges: Very nice, comfortable, quite hotel for families. With green terrace, equipped kitchen, facilities for surfers and families with kids. Staff is very welcoming, friendly... Breakfast is tasty, fresh and served very nice))

Avantatges: La sensación de encontrarte en una casa (de Harry) de visita. Tranquilidad, atención, soluciones para todo y un nivel de educación entre los "huéspedes" impresionante. Nuestro perro(labrador de 50 kgs) fué fué tratado con esmero y cariño por todo el mundo y la integración en la casa fué, para nosotros, una absoluta sorpresa que nos ratifica en la necesidad de aumentar el respeto de los alojamientos por ser "pet friendly). El resto de Europa nos lleva años luz de ventaja. Dispones de sitio en la nevera y puedes prepararte tus propios alimentos en la bien equipada cocina.

Desavantatges: En los apartamentos de alrededor, dejaron animales solos y no pararon, durante el periodo de siesta, de ladrar por ausencia. ¡Ojo en Peniche!, Muchos establecimientos no tienen los precios con iva incluido, por lo que te puedes llevar sorpresas muy desagradables a la hora de abonar tu factura. La praia de Portinho de Areia do Norte, definida como playa para perros, es peligrosísima para sus patas ya que está llena de guijarros y hay desprendimientos de rocas en la zona de arenal. Recomendamos ir, con perros educados a cualquiera de las otras un poco apartado del resto de la gente.

Avantatges: Jardín y terraza

Avantatges: It is a quite place, not far from the beach. The west (rocky) cost of Peniche is breathtaking. Unfortunately, we was not lucky - the first day was extremely windy (and chilly) and the second day was raining all day, so I cannot give proper info about the place and the surrounding area. Nevertheless, we had a very nice time (in the evening) with my friends in the apartment - felt very cozy in there.

Desavantatges: The weather :(

Avantatges: Baleal Zensations is five minutes’ walk from the beach. My room had a small balcony and the space is well designed and very clean. Breakfast is a buffet and has all you need. The manager is very efficient at giving information. There is a lovely garden and lock-up area for surfboards.

Desavantatges: Negatives:- I agree with the previous reviewer:- The manager seems to use the sitting room as his office and cooks his lunch there in the guest kitchen. This can make guests feel uncomfortable to use these spaces to relax in. I don’t think he realises that doing his work in the guests' area messes up the definition of space. As guests, we feel “Oh, now we are sitting in your office.”. It was soooo much better on his days off! The lady who does these days is lovely. The internet connection is erratic. When I asked the manager, his response was “Well, it should work”. When I pointed out that yes, it should work but it evidently doesn’t, he had no helpful response. I thought it may have been because I had the back room, but other guests said their internet was virtually non-existent too. I was with my dog. I would say this guest house is more ‘dog tolerant’ than ‘dog-friendly’. Even though there is a garden, it is not secure and the gate is often left open. There are no dog bowls, poo bags or any of the usual things on offer. However, Peniche Dog Hostel is a great doggy daycare facility, about 10-minute drive, if you need it.

Avantatges: La tranquilidad del lugar, amabilidad de Luis y Nadia, la comodidad en todos los sentidos, la limpieza, el sonido del mar mientras duermes.

Desavantatges: Me hubiese gustado una habitación con terracita pero al pedirlo con baño era abuardillado aunque cierto es que daba al mar... en general me agradó bastante todo.

Avantatges: Luis was a great host and you can tell he takes great pride in his property. We were there during low season and basically had the house to ourselves. During season, I could see that it might feel crowded or be noisy. For us it was a great place to rest and relax.

Avantatges: Luis is just the best host we've met in a long time

Avantatges: Excellent location for the surf and walks on the beach away from the centre of town. The owner run hostel was very relaxing and friendly with everything you needed such as the kitchen, bbq areas and a delicious breakfast included in the price. There were also surfboards and bicycles available for hire.

Desavantatges: I thought from the advertisement that there was a bath in my double room with private bathroom and the water wasn’t very hot. The photos showed a room with a view, and my attic room only had a small window in the roof.

Avantatges: Limpieza total, ubicación impresionante, buen desayuno, mucha calma, anfitriones super amables. Repetiremos

Avantatges: Se implicaron en resolver nuestros problemas. Incluimos un viajero adicional a última hora y nos consiguieron una tercera cama tan cómoda como las originales, incluso cambiando la configuración de la habitación. Muy buena ubicación y atención perfecta.

Avantatges: The host of the place made us feel really welcome and was a genuine friendly man! The place is by the beach so if you want some peace and quiet with nice views it’s perfect. Shared bathroom was clean and not crowded at all. Breakfast simple but fresh and filling! Loved our stay we will be back!! You can take a walk to supertubos, probably a bit far to walk to town centre but you can take a taxi or drive.

Avantatges: Very good location, right in front of Supertubos. Nice kitchens and living rooms. Breakfast and showers were nice too.

Desavantatges: I’d suggest two changes: 1) In the kitchens, there was only one trash bin. Invariably, most people would deposit everything in them, recyclables or not. I think there should be 3 or 4, for plastics, paper, glass, etc. Same for the breakfast area. In fact, there were bins for recyclables outside in the patio area, but people are lazy and only few would use them. These bins need to be at hand, and inside. Just my two cents on a very important problem were facing worldwide. 2) Our Mattresses was not comfortable at all. It felt old and worn out.

Avantatges: Luis is a great owner. The room was clean and the view was very beautiful. The hostel is just in front of the ocean.

Avantatges: Awesome staff, great beds, super breakfast.

Avantatges: Beautiful castle house! Charming and with the character.... reminding of old times. The host is super nice and kind, the rooms very comfortable and clean. Don’t expect modern furniture because the beauty of the house is its history. The breakfast was served in a beautiful room and it was delicious. If you happen to be in that zone don’t hesitate to stay there!

Avantatges: An old family house on the way to Peniche. The owner welcomed us over a glass of Port and offered information about the area - places to visit, things to see and where to have dinner. All the rooms are tastefully decorated with antique artefacts, yet facilities are quite modern - a very comfortable bed and good water pressure in shower. Breakfast served in the dining room facing the garden was delicious and truly home made. Swimming pool looks lovely but we didn't have the chance to use it because of the weather.

Desavantatges: Nothing

Avantatges: The hosts were so friendly and made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was wonderful and we were greeted with a smile every morning and the best tasting fresh orange juice! The casa itself is beautiful and our room in the garden facing the swimming pool had everything we needed during our stay. We spent a lot of time lounging around the pool when we were not making the short trip to the beach at Baleal. The host gives helpful tips on where to go and where to eat. Really enjoyed this stay and would return if were ever near by.

Avantatges: The beds were comfortable and there was a nice garage for surfboard and wetsuit storage. The atmosphere is very easy-going.

Desavantatges: This is basically a frat house, complete with stacks of dirty dishes in the kitchen sink and parties until the early morning. There was only 1 person on staff and he 100% did his best to keep it under control, but it was impossible with the house so full all the time. Not especially secure either, my roommates constantly left the door unlocked, but nothing went missing.

Avantatges: The atmospher, the staff gave it so much positiv energy

Desavantatges: If you don't want to party late into the night it might be a little noisy for you.

Avantatges: Claire and Duncan created something beautiful with this lodge. The lodge itself is spotless and has everything you need. Up for some surfing? Duncan has equipment for all levels of surfing and will help you out with anything. Overall the vibe was great and if you want a awesome surf holiday this is the place to be!

Avantatges: Claire and Duncan where spectacular hosts. They take you to the best surf spots every day, make a camp, and even provide you gear with very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Avantatges: Claire, Duncan and Dane were fantastic hosts, surf guides and more, going above and beyond to ensure every guest had a memorable stay. Plus, the property is in an excellent location with a relaxed and inviting vibe. Will definitely be back.

Desavantatges: Breakfast is only carbohydrates (cereals, marmalade). I miss some egs or ham and cheese for sandwiches.

Avantatges: El Desayuno era compartido aunque no utilizamos ese servicio. Los restaurantes de la zona, Peniche, estaban muy bien, mucha variedad. El alojamiento es ideal para los amantes del surf, lo tienen todo muy organizado y te dan muchas facilidades para practicar este deporte. Además te relacionas con gente de ese rollo y si eres extrovertido te molará la experiencia.

Desavantatges: En principio nada que objetar y ninguna pega. No tuvimos contratiempos.

Avantatges: The location of the accommodation, the condition of the rooms and the included breakfast was very good. I particularly liked the enthusiasm and dedication of the hosts which resulted in a good team spirit of all guests and made my stay unforgettable.

Avantatges: We arrived really late on the first night and there was no problem doing the check in.

Desavantatges: First of all, my friend and I had booked a shared room of 4 people but when we arrived we found out it was a room of 6, without any explanation different than "you know, it's busy season and people wanted to stay longer". We didn't say anything because we weren't going to spend that much time in the hostel; our idea was to surf and travel. However, what I had never expected during my holidays was to be scolded by the owner for not going surfing with them. He literally came into our room in the morning and quite in an impolite way told us: "you shouldn't come to a surf lodge if you are not going to surf, there are a lot of people wanting to be lodged here, and if you don't surf with us you are making me lose money". I would think that I shouldn't have to explain myself to anyone during my holidays and even less after being given a room worse than what we had booked. By the way, we did do surf everyday, but on our own as we wanted to travel a bit and visit different beaches. Sorry to say that we thought his behaviour very unprofessional and rude. Not a way to treat your clients. P.S: we didn't even have a locker or space to leave our things, it was a really crowded room.

Avantatges: I had such a great time in Peniche when I arrived, I was very nicely added to the group. After one day I already felt at home, everyone takes care of you and I have already closed all in my heart. The surf lessons were great! I will definitely come back!! :)

Desavantatges: the only bad thing was the they couldn‘t adopt me haha

Desavantatges: Check-in was a little bit unclear. We missed a short briefing about how everything works, surfing and appartement/lodge wise. But at the end nothing to complain!

Avantatges: The location is very good. The stuff very friendly and you have discounts if you rent the surf board and wet suit from their firm.

Desavantatges: I know that isn't a 5 star hotel, and for the money we paid everything was fine, except the matterss. Even if the price is very low i think is very important that you have a good place to sleep and that implies the mattress. hope you change it ( room 1)

Avantatges: Great space with a very nicley equiped kitchen and a cool living room. The location is awsome and they offer surfing classes and surfing equipment rentals :)

Desavantatges: Se escuchaba mucho el ruido del resto de las habitaciones. La persiana de la habitación no funcionaba. El baño olía fatal a tuberías. Es una cuarta planta sin ascensor y no se avisa.

Avantatges: I really liked the location, it was super close to the beach and the grocery store was just down the street. You could also easily walk down the road and find the most beautiful sunset spot on Papoa island.

Desavantatges: The pillows were not comfortable, I couldn’t sleep great with the pillows available to us. Our room didn’t have a deck so we would have to go down 4 flights of stairs to have a smoke. The oven doesn’t work either.

Avantatges: La localización de la habitación hacie que hubiese mas tranquilidad con respecto al resto de inquilinos del piso. Habitación grande con terraza grande y buenas vistas. El baño compartido amplio y cercano. Se puede ir andando al centro de peniche. Buena localización.

Desavantatges: Los portazos de la puerta de casa. Nadie se molesta en meter la llave para cerrar sin molestar. No hay ascensor

Desavantatges: 1) recibimiento rápido,con prisas. 2) la ropa de cama no daban sensación de limpieza, las mantas olían a humedad. Y parecía que habían reutilizado las sábanas. 3) buena terraza, pero la puerta de la terraza de nuestra habitación imposible de cerrar con pestillo, y da a una terraza comunitaria. Tampoco funcionaba las persianas. 4) poca limpieza, sobre todo el baño. 5) los huéspedes poco respeto con los horarios de descanso, no es culpa del alojamiento, pero si se podría establecer unas normas de convivencia que no las tienen.

Avantatges: Ideal relación calidad-precio. Buen trato, tranquilo y limpio.

Avantatges: This was a gorgeous room with huge windows overlooking the ocean and point, we had the top floor. Restaurants and cafes within walking distance plus a nice beach with surfing or swimming.

Desavantatges: Although there was no elevator (63 steps up to the top floor) it was worth the stairs for the view.

Avantatges: Everything was as expected, quiet place, nice room, friendly people.

Avantatges: La habitación que yo tuve está en un edificio anexo al hotel, en el que el desayuno sin ser muy variado es bastante correcto, y en un salón muy agradable. Justo frente al hotel hay una pequeña placita con aparcamiento. Cerca del hotel hay varios restaurantes y tiendas. Me gustó no tener que subir escaleras para ir a mi habitación. El personal del hotel muy amable.

Desavantatges: Mi habitación era demasiado estrecha, ya que con las dos camas casi no podía moverme por ella. Contaba con una tv demasiado pequeña, y la cama no era muy cómoda. En toda la habitación, solo un enchufe. Al menos yo no vi más...

Avantatges: Great price performance ratio! The room was always very clean and cosy and the breakfast was very good as well. There was a great variety of foods and everything was served fresh. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Desavantatges: the photos are not true, the structure is still a yard with temporary stairs, the room is very small and humid with no comfort, for example, no hook to hang towels and the wooden beds creak so much that you do not sleep. Staff rude and approximate, no room cleaning service and no change of towels if not on request. Breakfast acceptable but be careful not to delay, at 10.01 they send you back. No yoga or other services, just surf lessons but too expensive, surf rental on the beaches are better.

Avantatges: La situación, el restaurante. Habitación renovada con colchones nuevos. El desayuno igual todos los días , pero buena la macedonia natural.

Desavantatges: Hormigas en la habitacion durante toda la estancias, a pesar de informar de ello. No se realizó ninguna limpieza durante los 6 días , a pesar de solicitarla. Se cambiaron la toallas el último día y despues de insistir varias veces. Falta de armario para la ropa y de mesilla de noche.

Desavantatges: No existe recepción como tal, no hay nadie atendiendo, más de media jora esperando que apareciese alguien para poder hacer el check-in teniendo en cuenta que mandamos un correo para informar de la hora de llegada, ni nos respondieron, también lo probé por teléfono y ni tampoco respondieron. El bar estaba cerrado aunque ponga que abre todo el Verano. La habitación no tiene lo que sale en las fotos, no tiene ni armario, ni estantería, ni colgador, ni siquiera una mesa o una silla, así que la maleta y la ropa al suelo. Tampoco tenía secador de pelo como especificaba, gel y champú tampoco, y ni siquiera jabón de manos. Nada de esto se puede subsanar ya que en recepción no hay nadie, y por teléfono ni cogen. El desayuno buffet ni os lo creáis, café de termo, leche fria, y tostadas, no llega ni a desayuno continental.

Avantatges: La habitación era amplia y con techos altos. Salida directa a la piscina. Noches muy tranquilas.

Desavantatges: La habitación no tenía armario ni ningún otro mueble que no fuera las camas. El baño idem y no tenía ventilación. La ventilación de la habitación era a través de un ventanuco de 50x50 cm.

Avantatges: Muy limpio y muy buena localización

Avantatges: H2O está muy bien situado( puedes caminar a todas las playas). No tiene muchas camas, por lo tanto dispones de mucho espacio para tus cosas, tanto en la habitación, cómo en la cocina, la cuál dispone de todo los instrumentos necesarios y espacios individuales para cada huésped. Además dispones de una zona para limpiar y secar el neopren,o y también un lugar dónde dejar tu tabla de surf. Todo en líneas generales muy limpio. Francesco es muy amable, siempre está pendiente de todo y dispones de su ayuda siempre que lo necesitas. Recomendado 100%

Desavantatges: No encontré nada negativo durante mi estancia.

Avantatges: La ubicación del hostel está perfecta. A cinco minutos andando de la playa. El menaje de la cocina está bastante bien y hay espacio suficiente para todos los huéspedes en la nevera.

Desavantatges: Como aspectos a mejorar: la comodidad de la cama y el nivel de ruído.

Avantatges: El encargado de la casa es muy simpático y el precio esta bien. Como no hay mucha gente viviendo en ella tienes la casa casi para ti solo.

Desavantatges: No estaba muy limpio y hay parte del mobiliario que es antiguo y esta medio roto

Avantatges: Its exactly what you need if you plan to go surfing allot. Francesco rents boards for cheaper than the shops around, has a wide range, is generally helpful with everything else.

Avantatges: H2O Surfguide Hostel is the perfect place if you want to live a beautiful experience enjoying the nature, the ocean and the practice of surf. It is located in the small surfy town of Baleal and is very comfortable, cozy and well-organized to make your surf life easy. There are many different beaches and surf spots achievable with a short walk and the owner is always happy to give advices on the best places to go depending on the weather conditions. It is also possible to rent surf equipment at a very fair price. I really liked my staying at the hostel and, even if I had reserved a bed only for a couple of nights, at the end I decided to stay for one week. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend the place.
