Avantatges: Location is almost perfect. Right across the road from Ximending, and right next to a subway exit! Rooms clean and well-kept, staff are friendly and warm.
Desavantatges: Layout of hotel floor and lift access - basically the building is designed as a square enclosing a central courtyard but lift access to the ground floor and lobby exit is only on one side. Long walk time to your room if your room is on the opposite side of the ground access lift lobby.

Desavantatges: Breakfast will be quite boring after a few days, as i only stay for 2 nights i can't be sure. the food served is the same for both days. Laundry service would be better if it can be collected directly from the room.

Desavantatges: Customer service is seriously lacking!!! Beer was taken from our room. We spoke to numerous ‘managers’ about this and were told they asked the cleaner who denied it and couldn’t see anything on the cctv footage. Therefore, they weren’t going to do anything about it. Not an apology, no acknowledgement just nothing! Breakfast was below average, with staff packing up the food way before the 10am finish time. One day I had to ask for bread at 9:40am as it had already been taken away. There was no variety, the food choices were the same everyday.

Avantatges: Bathroom design was bad! The bathroom was flooded with water after bathing as the bathtub was not fully concealed by the separator causing water to sprayed out of the premise. In addition, there isn't any blinds installed in the bathroom, hence you may have a live bathing show. This can be awkward and uncomfortable for travelers with family members (siblings) like me! The funny part is I explicitly booked a family room (2 queen bed) and such bathroom design was implemented by the hotel, resulting in the need for us to leave the room while the other is bathing (troublesome)!

Avantatges: Wi-Fi worked perfectly, good location regards city transportation possibilities, clean room, free umbrella if it rains.
Desavantatges: Despite there was air conditioning regulator in a room it was hard to raise the temperature and in was chilly in the room all the time. The window extremely dirty - so despite 19th floor - there was no view. Swimming pool closed - despite booking.com said it was open. Very limited choice of continental breakfast, moreover food was cold.

Desavantatges: My friend and I arrived late and the receptionist wasn't particularly friendly, and was discussing when and where to go for their cigarette break. The room is quite outdated and some areas are dusty.

Avantatges: There's a bus to take you to and from the airport right to the hotel for approximately $3. It's convenient to get to the National Palace Museum, a fabulous museum of Chinese art. The restaurant is OK, but we enjoyed the club restaurant which is on the campus.
Desavantatges: This is a hotel catering to tour groups. We had a small room with nice bath, but it was on the inside so no windows. We used the concierge who went out of her way to help us but the front desk was less helpful.

Avantatges: El personal muy amable y atendía en varios idiomas. La decoración muy bonita y original. La ubicación: cerca de la parada de metro de Ximen y rodeado de tiendas y restaurantes de diferentes estilos. Tiene diversos servicios dentro del hotel, entre los que destacaría lavadores y secadoras de pago con moneda. Si vas a estar varios días y llevas poco equipaje o te sorprende algún cambio de tiempo te salva la vida.
Desavantatges: El desayuno. Estaba ubicado en un restaurante que estaba cerca del hotel pero era de un estilo concreto que si no te gusta no merece la pena que esté incluido. Al que le guste el huo guo (hot pot o olla mongola) no tiene ningún problema. al que no debe buscarse una alternativa por las alrededores, como fue mi caso.

Avantatges: La decoración es muy bonita. La zona de las habilitaciones es muy tranquila. En la planta que estuve había lavandería y no me enteré que estaba siendo usada hasta que pasé cerca. El personal de recepción es muy amable y acogedor.
Desavantatges: El desayuno es un restaurante de hot pot y no es mi comida favorita pero está muy cerca del hotel y es un local muy bueno. Soy un poco despistado y los pasillos para encontrar la habitación me dieron dolor de cabeza.

Avantatges: Mucho mejor de lo esperado, cama comodísima con 4 almohadas, el wifi rapidísimo, habitación muy amplia y moderna, buena presión en la ducha, a 5 minutos de la estacion tanto de la central de metro como del tren que lleva al aeropuerto, con muchos restaurantes alrededor. Nos guardaron las maletas al día siguiente para poder seguir haciendo turismo. Desayuno muy barato por unos 3 euros. Todo perfecto

Avantatges: Fast check in, it took me 2 minutes only to check in using the computer at the counter. Location is very near to Taipei Main Station even though there's no lift at the exit nearest to the hotel and it's walking distance to Ximending. Good location if you're planning to go for day trips. The room has high technology, you can control everything using the iPad. The bed is very big and comfortable.
Desavantatges: There was damp smell in the bathroom, I think it lacks of ventilation so it's best to keep the door open. Room size is quote small so it's hard to open 2 medium-sized luggages at the same time.

Avantatges: El hotel es muy moderno, de diseño. En la entrada el check-in es sencillo y al hacerlo puedes elegir qué tipo y altura se habitación deseas. El desayuno es excelente, muy variado y con todas las opciones western y también orientales si lo deseas. Está muy cerca de la estación de metro MRT y tren TRA/HSR y al Aeropuerto. Es tranquilo, silencioso, se descansa muy bien. La cama es grande aunque para dos personas, siempre hay uno pegado a la pared. Se maneja todo con un mini iPad y es muy sencillo. Te dan dos botellitas de agua en la habitación. El personal es súper amable, atento y hablan muy bien inglés (lo que se agradece MUCHO)
Desavantatges: La temperatura de la habitación, no termino de encontrar como parar el aire, aunque el ventilador está en Off. La cama pegada a la pared hace que uno de los dos salte sobre el otro para ir al baño a media noche... Poco espacio donde abrir dos maletas.

Desavantatges: 1. Bed was very underwhelming - my partner is about 10kg heavier than I am and it was extremely obvious from the way the mattress sunk in and my sleep was compromised. I don't think this is supposed to happen for good quality mattresses. 2. Breakfast selection was pretty limited - about 5 or 6 hot items. Would not have opted for breakfast inclusion if we had known. 3. Wet and dry areas of the toilet weren't segregated.

Avantatges: Quite small but "smart" rooms. Loved the blackout curtains. Very good breakfast with good coffee. The personell was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Good cocktails at the bar. Location directly at the end station of the airport metro.
Desavantatges: The food options in the canteenM could have been a bit more varied (very focussed on asian tastes, little veg options). There is a "blackout" button on the smart control Pad (turns off TV, lights and brings down the curtains) which is great. It would be also great to have a "wakeup" button (to turn a dimmed light on and bring the blackout curtains up). At the moment the light goes on "full blast" when you switch it on. (feels a bit like a vampire gets struck by sunlight) ;-)

Avantatges: I stayed here for the 2nd time and I liked it even more than last year. Location is great, rooms and interior design as well, but what makes the difference are the people working there. During the actual crisis we had some problems with our flights and our next hotel in Kaohsiung. The lovely people at CitizenM were extremely helpful and cheered us up every day. We got some free drinks at the bar and had a wonderful time in Taipei. 11 of 10 stars for the ambassadors!

Avantatges: Una excelente una ubicación. Un hotel vanguardista con decoración moderna y muy original, la pieza todo manejable através de un I-PAD. Pero lo mejor es el excelente trato del personal, grato, siempre con una sonrisa y dispuestas a ayudar con un óptimo manejo del inglés. Una vista espectacular desde los grandes ventanales del cuarto. Un hotel para repetir.
Desavantatges: La habitación muy pequeña en que la cama debía quedar pegada a la pared. El desayuno poco variado.

Desavantatges: I was on the 8th floor and there was a stale odor in the hallway. The electric toilet didn't work and the shower door leaked water on the bathroom floor. As for their breakfast buffet, while the service was great, the breakfast was disappointingly mediocre at best. They could have easily improved the quality, for example, if you're serving bagels and lockes, please have cream cheese available... and of course some sliced cucumber, tomatoes, and capers will be nice too.

Desavantatges: Es un hotel bastante antiguo, y se nota. Teníamos una habitación familiar, tienen habitaciones que dan al interior del edificio, que fue la suite que nos dieron y luego al exterior. Pedimos cambio y al segundo día muy amablemente nos cambiaron a la habitación exterior, las interiores no tienen luz natural. EL desayuno, en relación al precio de la habitación, regular. Nos pareció muy caro para lo que el hotel ofrece

Avantatges: The cleaning staff was coughing and sneezing in our room for the last 2 days when cleaning our room. We informed the front desk, they imediately took action to check on the clesaning staff, sanitize our room twice and offerred to change our room for us. They assured us the cleaning staff is fine too. The hotel constantly santized the area and checked the tempature of all visitors and staff. They also provided sanitizer for all visitors. We felt safe and assured.

Desavantatges: Went out in the morning, returned back to room at 5pm. Once opened room door was shocked that room was still not cleaned up. Called the Reception they said will check with housekeeping but could not provide reason why. A few minutes later some one knock on the door. Housekeeping Supervisor and staff standing outside asking to clean room. We told them to come back at 5.30pm as we need to take a rest. Asked what happened why our room not cleaned. The reply was staff is new and work slower and probably missed out our room. Is this reason acceptable? Anyway, we returned later in the night and the room is done plus a plate of complimentary fresh fruits. The room small window is behind the bed. The top of curtain do not completed covered the window. Hence early morning sunlight came through and quite disturbing.

Avantatges: Amazing location and ambiance. They had a huge screen and camera system that recorded your temperature as you entered. Sanitizer stations everywhere and even had my temperature checked again at check-in. The views from my room were really cool. Especially from the huge window in the tub. Everything was spotless and beyond what I expected. The staff was kind and made my stay very enjoyable. I can’t wait to return.

The hotel is located right in the centre, connected to Y underground path so it was so easy for us to explore the city from the hotel. All the staff who responded my emails before arrival were polite and professional.
Desavantatges: The lobby and the breakfast area are way too dark. We couldn’t see the breakfast on our own plate at the table. Also it is decorated way too much it didn’t make us feel relaxed. Too many mirrors. The staff at the breakfast reception didn’t seem to know what they are doing.

Filled up all the stationary, mini bar, bathroom supplies, coffee and tea bags, clean up my place twice a day, print out my boarding passes and small gift at the check out time. Good breakfast, nice lunch and dinner. The best part is the dessert sections, match the French standard. I am lucky travel to France for the past 15 years, dessert is the part me and wife enjoy a lot (beside shopping $$). So far, dessert is the best I ever had in Taipei. Location is also the reason why I picked this hotel again, next to the main train station and subway stations, you can go anywhere by using public transit systems by bus, subway and trains. The shopping mall service a lot of tourist request, even have an foreign exchange center there, rate is better than the airport plus it work till the end of the shopping mall hour. Across the street will be local Taiwanese food, all the thing famous in Taiwan like 95% food choices are there, price is good deal.
Desavantatges: The interior decoration is a little bit dark, also the bathroom layout is hard for elderly person to step in the tall bath tub plus is kind of open concept (may be romantic for someone), not my personal comfort zone. As a whole, the whole hotel design is on the dark side. My personal preference is bright, too bad could not do much about it.

Desavantatges: The choices on your site should be more descriptive of the different kinds of room to be availed by your guest. We expected the room to have own toilet but to our dismay, it's a dormitory type without own bathroom and comfort room so we have to upgrade. Thanks to your front desk personnel, Mr. Smith. We were able to move in another room with dedicated comfort room. However, there should be a cabinet installed in all your rooms for your guest's clothes instead of having them placed elsewhere or inside their luggage. Thank you very much for having our comments!

Avantatges: We arrived at the Grand Mayfull on Saturday 15th January 2020 and stayed for 1 night. We stayed in a Family Elite Suite. The room was c. 800 Sqft with 2 King Beds in one room and a sofa bed in another. We were a group of 4. The Room had two bathrooms. Room: Spectacular. Very plush. Very modern. Very spacious. One of the best city hotel rooms I have ever stayed in (and I have stayed in plenty trust me…). The bathrooms were huge. Bath was very lavish with expensive bath salts provided. The toiletries were all Hermes or White Company. Technology was state of the art. Plenty of storage space. All round 10/10. Service: English speaking was limited. However, staff are very efficient and well drilled. Location: Great Location. Situated on a high-end road. 15 minutes from Taipei 101. 5 minutes from the National Palace. Lots of good restaurants near by. Other Highlights: Spa was fantastic. Felt brand-new. Male / Female only areas. Sauna, Jacuzzis, Steam rooms. All to the very best quality. The perfect treatment after a long day walking around Taipei. Wow! Food was also great. We had the Weekend Buffet at the Italian Restaurant (we wanted a taste of home after 2 weeks of Asian Food) and we were very impressed. Hong Kong restaurant was also good although get there early if you want a chance at having the Duck. It sells out quickly.

Avantatges: The hot springs facility is amazing. 8 big baths of differing spring water. The rooms are also spacious, clean, and comfortable. Staff are attentive and welcoming.
Desavantatges: The food is the biggest disappointment. The breakfast was not to the level of the resort. Poached eggs were overdone and the toast was thin and dry. The frittata was just OK. Basically, a five-star hotel is serving Holiday Inn breakfast. The only good part of the breakfast was the fresh-squeezed juice. Communication among the staff was also lacking. We were told we could eat breakfast in the restaurant or in the room. We chose the restaurant, but when I went down, the staff were confused and said breakfast usually can only be had in the room. Also, again for a world class resort the hot springs spa is lacking in amenities like face wash and facial moisturizer.

Avantatges: Nice decor, the room is on the small side, great sauna & spa. No rowing machine in the gym but nice spread of equipment. Provides free yoga, pilates & other classes but not in very convenient times. Breakfast is outrageously expensive, I've had much better ones with a lot lower prices. Not many eateries in the vicinity, just world trade center. For good food, have to take metro to a couple stops away. It's great value because I'm booking with promotion (3rd night free) now due to coronavirus that halted most travels. Otherwise the regular price is not good for value as there are many fabulous new local brand hotels in town.
Desavantatges: The receipts, it creates problems for business travelers as one of the nights are shown as $0 and they can't amend it.

Avantatges: Pleasant stay at a business hotel situated in the newly built retail district in Taipei, very close to a number of luxury shopping and dining venues. In walking distance to Taipei's 101 Tower, formerly the tallest building in the world. Breakfast has a good choice of Western and Asian options, the room (we had a small suite) was very well equipped and the bed was exceptionally comfortable! Very friendly and attentive staff. Also, the hotel has an interesting art collection, which is always a bonus.
Desavantatges: The bar and lobby area was somewhat sterile and uninviting. When we sat down for a drink at the bar in the evening, the loud techno music seemed completely out of place and even after requesting to turn it down, we were told it had to be on. After our experience there we went for drinks at the more inviting bar at Humble House hotel just around the corner and found it much more enjoyable.

Desavantatges: Nos dieron una habitación y la electricidad se fue 5 minutos después (sólo en esa habitación), así que nos cambiaron a otra habitación. Dos de los cuatro días que dijeron que nos iban a poner un desayuno (que pagamos) luego no lo tenían y nos perdimos el espacio que había para realmente tomar un desayuno. Nos devolvieron el dinero, pero fue un problema. La última noche el aire acondicionado se fue en el hotel... cuando nos despertamos la temperatura era de 87 grados en nuestra habitación.

Desavantatges: I booked a room with my credit card (to secure my space) and the confirmation letter said the fee will be paid at the hotel upon my arrival, so when I checked in, I told them I'll pay cash for my stay; thus, I thought they wouldn't charge the fee on my credit card when I checked out and told them again that I'd pay cash for my stay; after I got home from my trip in Taipei, I checked my credit card account and saw a pending fee for the hotel stay; I called Sparkle hotel immediately and then I was told I'll have to wait for up to one month (since I'm using a foreign credit card) to wait for the bank to process the refund.... if I had known or was told that they have already charged the fee on the card when I was going to check out, then I wouldn't have had decided to pay with cash then and thus can avoid going through the time-consuming process of getting my money back later. I wish they'd inform the customers in advance if SPARKLE hotel has already charged the fee on the card upon check-in. The hotel is great in all ways, and I really enjoy my stay there with my kid. I guess I'll just have to ask the front desk about the payment upon my check-in in the future more carefully. I'll definitely choose to stay in this hotel again in the future!
