Loews Regency New York Hotel

After check-in we went into our room, only to find that it was still occupied! Turns out that the previous guest had not left yet. The frontdesk handled this well enough and gave us to rooms for the night (we booked one for a party of 4) at no additional cost, and they got us some drinks at the bar. Location is great, 2 blocks down from central park/5th avenue and 2 blocks down from the green or yellow subway lines. This gets you everywhere easily. Rockefeller plaza is roughly a 30 minute walk. Despite this being NYC the room did not suffer from outside noise. Prices in the bar are excessive, $14 for a beer and $18 for wine! We had a fridge in the room, which allowed us to get some breakfast things at the supermarket a few blocks away. There is also a good deli around the corner of the church and they had good bagels.

Housekeeping would incessantly knock on your door starting at 08:00 already. We quickly learned to put our "do not disturb" sign on the door. Flushing the toilet was very noisy inside the room, and when the neighbours showered you could hear this loudly in our room. There is a very expensive spa but no pool available (which dissappointed the kids)
